Real guns sound fake
So apparently after the football game, the “pop gun” I heard was actually a real gun. About 50 feet away.
Police have identified two suspects in an incident following a football game Friday night during which several gunshots were fired on the Forrest City High School campus.
Police have recovered the gun believed to have been used in the incident, but no arrests have been made. The suspects, according to police, are 14- and 15-year-old Forrest City juveniles.
The football game had just ended when a fight broke out between the fieldhouse and the high school, according to witnesses.
Officers responding to the gunshots said everyone believed to have been involved fled the area before they arrived, but witnesses identified the suspects.
While searching the area, officers found the weapon, a .22 caliber pistol in a ditch near the band hall. The pistol had “six spent rounds in the chamber,” police said.
No one was reported injured, and the investigation is continuing.
